Week 7

The pats on the back are appreciated, but bragging goes to the runners. They ran fast and hard these last two races. over 40 runners  PR on Thursday and Saturday.  Great Job the results of Thursday are posted on Blog. One person left in the 20's and just miss 19 for 2 miles.

The following is excerpt from Coach Brehm from PBL regarding the course on Thursday

Dawson Lake Doozy

I'm not sure if the kids are following what it happening, but we continue to tell them what is going to happen, before it does.  Maybe we should open a fortune telling shop in downtown Paxton!  The layout for this course is PERFECT for fast times, and we know that.  I've GPSed this thing and it is accurate, so I get tired of people telling me it's short.   The bottom line, we are getting in shape and conditions today were OPTIMAL.  Hence, GREAT times and super effort by most of our team members.  I'm extremely happy with what I saw.  I know they heard me from behind, as I ran with a group of several team members at the back of the pack to help them out, and BINGO, we did it!

So enough said about this course being short.

The Saturday race had hills and grass and wind. Your time may not be as fast as Thursday but you need to compare to other grassy race you race this season. Now count up the number of PR.

The race is tight for Varsity. These next few weeks are going to be a mental challenge. Your bodies are getting in shape for running. You need to focus on the mental part. NO PAIN NO GAIN,  PAIN IS TEMPORARY PRIDE IS FOR EVER. How did you feel after the Dawson Race?  How did you fell after the Parkside Race? How do feel after you compare Parside with other grassy races.
